Scarves Can Be
Knit, Crochet or Cut Fleece

You can use any yarn and any stitch or pattern
Adult Scarves -- Are standard 5 feet long no wider then 8-9 inches
Children's Scarves- Are 48 inches long and 6 inches wide
Directions For Fleece Scarves

  • Fold fleece in half. Most fleece is 54, 60, or 72 inches. This will be the length of your scarf.
  • A child’s scarf is 6 inches wide.
  • An adult scarf is 9 inches wide.
  • Use rotary cutters and a self healing mat to cut scarves. If not available, use scissors and a yard stick.
  • Fringe -- cut ½ to 1 inch strips, 3-4 inches long on the bottom of each finished scarf. These strips can be tied if desired.
  • Adult men’s scarves can be left unfringed.
  • Depending on the width of your fleece, (54, 60, 72 inches) one yard of fleece will make:
    6 children scarves
    4 adult scarves
Students can complete large amounts of scarves by making
an assembly line. Some students can cut scarves while others cut
fringe. If you like, you may also attach a tag with
warm wishes or a bible verse.
